Lip Sync - When a Break-Down is a Good Thing

Animation is usually drawn to match the soundtrack. So you need to break the dialog and the soundtrack down into individual scenes, actions and even frames when necessary for lip-sync. FlipBook gives you two ways to do lip-sync.

Some animators write the alphabet letters of the sounds in the dialog into the frames where they belong so they'll know which mouth position to use in the drawing that goes into that frame. Others scan or shoot a set of standard mouth drawings into an extra level in FlipBook and copy them into each frame where they belong.

Either way, FlipBook lets you scrub or step through the soundtrack and slide the drawings up and down while the scene is playing to get the timing absolutely perfect.
